Farmers in Georgia will be able to sell their products in the capital city of Tbilisi at special locations that will be allocated in all 10 districts of the city, Tbilisi City Hall announces.

Vending kiosks will be provided for farmers free of charge, said Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze at today’s government meeting.

We have many people who stand in the streets and sell the products that they cultivate in the villages. This is prohibited and not permitted by the law. We want to support these people and offer them locations in all 10 districts of Tbilisi where they will be able to sell their products two to three days a week”, said Kaladze.

Kaladze said that a tender will be announced for the creation of the vending counters in the coming days.

He said that in launching this initiative, Tbilisi City Hall is trying to help people understand that unregulated vending in the streets is unallowable.
