Two Georgian citizens, who were detained near occupied Tskhinvali region for “illegally crossing the border”, have been released today.

Gabriel Melanashvili and Tamaz Mchedlidze, locals of the village of Nikozi, in the Gori municipality of Georgia's Shida Kartli region, were detained late yesterday.

Locals said earlier that the de facto Tskhinvali leadership was demanding $295 for the release of the individuals.

However, de facto security service reported today that both detainees were released without paying a fine due to one of the man’s health conditions.
