The Georgian government is starting a large scale promotion campaign of Georgia’s touristic potential in cooperation with National Geographic magazine.

The cooperation details were discussed by the Vice Prime Minister of Georgia Dimitri Kumsishvili and the Vice President of National Geographic Annabelle Kanvel yesterday.

"National Geographic has already been publishing stories about Georgia and Tbilisi for years but our readers want to know more about the tourist destinations of this country. The planned cooperation will give us the possibility to let our audience know more about Georgia", National Geographic’s vice president said after the meeting.

The online promotion campaign will run Georgia about EUR 250,000 and will start on May 14 and last until October 14.

The campaign will include 5 stories on National Geographic website, 5 multimedia blogs, online banners and pre-roll advertisement on National Geographic’s Facebook page.

The Ministry of Economy expects the campaign to reach more than 4 million people.
