Georgia’s Finance Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze is visiting the United States where he is holding meetings with various financial institutions and governmental officials.
Bakhtadze met representatives of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank and received a positive assessment of Georgia’s economic development from them.
The Georgian delegation headed by Bakhtadze also met with the vice-president of the European Investment Bank (EIB), where they talked about how the EIB supports the development of Georgia’s small and medium-sized business.
Bakhtadze also met Finance Minister of Latvia and Swiss government officials, where they talked about the importance of free trade agreements which is important for Georgia’s economic progress.
To note, the free trade agreement between the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) and Georgia will enter into force for Switzerland on 1 May.
