Iran Air launches flights between Tbilisi and Tehran

Iranian airline Iran Air has launched scheduled operations from Iran’s capital of Tehran to Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi, announces Georgia’s Civil Aviation Agency.
Starting from March 27, Iran Air will perform flights on Tehran-Tbilisi-Tehran route two times a week during the summer aviation season, until October 27, 2018.
Flights will be held on Tuesdays and Saturdays with the company’s Airbus A320 jet.
Eight companies have been performing flights between Georgia and Iran so far. These companies are Georgian Airways, Myway Airlines, ATA Airlines, Taban Airlines, Qeshm Airlines, Zagros Airlines, Kish Air and Iran Aseman Airlines.
Myway Airlines is a new Georgian airline company on the Georgian aviation market. Myway Airlines will launch its first charter flight between Tbilisi and Tehran in May 2018.
Qatar Airways, the state-owned flag carrier of Qatar, is increasing flight frequency to Georgia during the summer aviation season. From June 1, Qatar Airways will perform Doha-Tbilisi-Doha flights three times a day.
Salam Air, a low-cost airline from Oman, is entering the Georgian market, scheduling the first flights to Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi for June 15, 2018.
The largest private airline operating in Kuwait, Jazeera Airways, is launching flights to Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi, United Airports of Georgia has announced.
Kuwait Wataniya Airways is increasing flight frequency to Georgia for the winter aviation season.
Saudi Arabia’s budget airline Flynas is entering Georgia, offering cheap flights from three Saudi Arabian cities to Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi from June 1. Flynas will perform flights from Riyadh, Dammam and Jeddah to Tbilisi with an Airbus A320.
