Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze has gifted a food stand to 15-year-old Gigi Antadze - a street vendor with cerebral palsy who has been selling fruits, juices and snacks for three years to help his family.
Gigi was warned by Tbilisi Mayor’s Office representatives on March 27 that due to amendments to the law he would not be able to sell his products on the street.
However, when Kaladze heard about the boy and his predicament, he tasked his employees to help the teeneger continue his vending business.
Kaladze urged people to buy products from Gigi. Photo from Tbilisi Mayor's press office.
Now Gigi has his food stand in Mziuri Park, in central Tbilisi and will sell his fresh juices and other products there.
We constructed the booth for Gigi for him to continue his work. It is very important that Gigi be happy and satisfied,” Kaladze said.
Gigi told the media that his dream has come true.
