The Government of Georgia intends to approve an urban development plan for the country’s mountain resort of Mitarbi.

Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili announced the initiative at today’s government meeting.

He said that the plan will include the development of residential zones in Mitarbi as well as skiing infrastructure.

Within the plan, the slopes of Mitarbi will be further lengthened and will be connected to one another.

Last week the government approved a plan for Land Use for Bakuriani, which is only four kilometers away from Mitarbi.

This plan will make Bakuriani and Mitarbi one of the most beautiful, modern and developed ski resorts not only for the winter, but for all four seasons” said the PM.

The PM also said that a further 5,000 beds will be added to the hospitality sector in Mitarbi, in addition to dining facilities, recreational zones, administrative buildings, sport complexes and touristic infrastructure.
