Georgia first country in the region with statistical data openness

Georgia ranks 38th out of 180 countries in the world and is the first country in the region in the third report of the Open Data Inventory (ODIN), which contains statistical data on openness and a full coverage of issues reported on by the official websites of statistics offices.

Published by the Organisation Open Data Watch, the main objective of the report is the assessment of the openness of official statistics based on open data. 

In 2017 the open data assessment was conducted in 180 countries and covered 21 statistical categories including major areas of economic, social, demographic and environment statistics.

In the social statistics category Georgia’s score was 51; in economic statistics Georgia got a score of 69 and in environmental statistics, 47, while the overall score in all categories is 55.

Open Data Watch has been conducting the assessment of data inventory and changes according to the world regions for three years already.
