De facto Tskhinvali has refused to hand over the Tatunashvili’s body. The de facto leadership says that they are waiting for Russian experts to study the body.
Tatunashvili and two others were detained by occupation forces on February 22 in Akhalgori area, on territory currently controlled by Russians.
After Tatunashvili’s death on February 23, his friends were released. However, they were deprived of their identification and transport documents.
The government of Georgia and the international community have condemned the fact, demanding the fair investigation of the death and punishment of those involved.
