The development of recreation zones in Georgia’s capital city of Tbilisi is one of the core principles of a new draft resolution that regulates construction in the capital city.

Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili explained at today’s government meeting that the changes in regulations will significantly improve the process of construction in Tbilisi.

It is very important to improve the construction process in Tbilisi and give more attention to the development of recreational spaces. According to the changes, in the process of obtaining a permit, it is necessary to present a greening plan, the registration of the existing trees, a new planting plan, as well as a transport study and transport regulation scheme at the initial stage for obtaining the construction permit on a building which size exceeds 4000 m2”, the PM said.

From November 20 2017 to January 18 of 2018 Tbilisi City Hall gave a verbal warning to more than 200 construction sites regarding construction issues.

A case of construction safety violations started against 126 sites.

Due to violations, construction was suspended on 54 objects.

The total amount of fines imposed for the construction violations is 627,000 GEL (about $256,229/€204,804*), announced Tbilisi City Hall.
