Last night’s fire in Tbilisi extinguished

A fire broke out in an apartment complex in the central district of Vake in Tbilisi last night.

The population living in the building was safely evacuated.

The fire had spread across some 70 square meters in the building.

Six fire-fighting brigades worked to extinguish the fire during the night.

Jaba Jishkariani, member of Tbilisi City Hall, said the municipal government will provide the families with temporary accommodation.

He also said the reason for the fire is yet unknown, but an investigation of the case is underway.
