Turkish citizen kidnapped in occupied Abkhazia

A Turkish man has been kidnapped in the Russian occupied region of Georgia – Abhazia.
Defacto local authorities said strangers kidnapped Captain Selim Kaya in one of the local ports in the town of Ochamchire.
The investigation of the case is underway.
- Kidnapping is a common crime in the breakaway region of Abkhazia, though many cases go unreported because families prefer to pay the ransom with the help of a go-between in order to keep their kidnapped relatives safe.
- The situation is similar in Georgia’s other Russian-occupied region of Tskinvali (South Ossetia).

The de facto leadership of Georgia’s eastern breakaway Tskhinvali (South Ossetia) region claims that Otinashvili was aiding people “illegally cross the border” between Georgia and Tskhinvali and that she accepted payment for the service.
Russia controlled forces have kidnapped another Georgian citizen from the village of Kribali in Gori municipality today.
