President Zurabishvili names team of advisors

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili has nominated some of her advisors today and stated that the team is expected to grow in the future.
Zurabishvili has reminded the public that Lasha Zhvania has been appointed the head of her administration.
The team members are as follows:
- Ketevan Makharashvili - deputy head of administration, coordinating the president’s activities in terms of gender and ethnic issues.
- Dimitri Gabunia - the president’s parliamentary secretary. He will temporarily serve as the president’s press speaker.
- Simon Petridisi- the president’s advisor for people with disabilities.
- Natia Sulava- the advisor for diaspora and citizenship issues.
- Aleksi Barbakadze - the advisor for military issues.
- Irina Shengelia - the advisor for public relations and media.
- Kote Natsvlishvili - the advisor for culture, education and science.
- Zurabishvili also presented an intern in her administration, a Georgian national born in emigration in France, who will become a member of the administration after the internship.
After taking the presidential oath in the historic castle of Telavi Salome Zurabishvili has been sworn in as the fifth and first ever female president of Georgia.
Georgian President-elect Salome Zurabishvili had told the international media that Russia has to be held accountable for its aggression in Georgia and Ukraine.
The US government is looking forward to working with Georgian President-elect Salome Zurabishvili, Robert Palladino, deputy spokesperson of the US Department of State said yesterday.
France is ready to cooperate with Georgia’s newly elected president Salome Zurabishvili to strengthen relations between the two countries, the French Foreign Ministry said in a statement. President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite have also congratulated Zurabishvili on her election as President of Georgia.
The Head of the Presidential Administration Lasha Zhvania announced that he will resign from the position on May 1. Zhvania was appointed as the head of President Salome Zurabishvili’s administration after her victory in last year’s presidential elections.
