NATO-Georgia commission emphasises importance of judicial reform in Georgia

Judicial reforms being carried out by Georgian government have been assessed by the allies at the NATO-Georgia commission held at the NATO headquarters in Brussels yesterday.  

The allies have emphasised the importance of increased trust towards the judicial system among society.

The Head of the Analytical Department of the Ministry of Justice Zurab Sanikidze and the head of the International Relations Department of the High Council of Justice Shorena Mezurnishvili have presented a report about government activities in the judiciary system.

The third wave of court reforms in Georgia and the importance of the fourth one were given particular attention at the meeting.

The allies have reaffirmed Georgia's progress in the judicial reform process while also emphasising the importance of it for the country's democratic development.
