Funding for the Presidential Administration of Georgia has been reduced by almost 4 million GEL and will be 6 million GEL in 2019.
This year the budget of the Presidential Administration was 9,800,000 GEL and 13,194,600 GEL in 2017.
At the same time, the presidential reserve fund will likely be canceled as no finances are allocated for it at this time. In 2018 the reserve fund contained five million GEL.
The number of employees of the new president’s administration will also be reduced from 140 in 2018 to 60 in 2019.
The inauguration of the president-elect Salome Zurabishvili will be held on December 16. The city where the inauguration will be held is not yet known.
Outgoing President Giorgi Margvelashvili waited for the president-elect and first female in the role Salome Zurabishvili outside the Avlabari presidential palace to greet her and invite her inside the building for the discussions.

Funding of the Presidential Administration of Georgia will be 9,800,000 GEL (about $3.64m/€3.20m) as is determined by the 2019 State Budget of Georgia.

What are budget priorities?
Georgian Finance Minister Ivane Matchavariani has presented the draft State Budget 2019 to the Parliament of Georgia which includes the main data and directions of the country for 2019-2022.
The Georgian legislation does not include regulations related to reserve funds management, which causes inappropriate spending of budget funds, reads the study of the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI) on municipal spending of reserve funds.
