Georgian Parliamentary Speaker visits US

Georgian Parliamentary Chairperson Irakli Kobakhidze is paying a working visit to the United States (US).

Departing today Kobakhidze will spend a week in the US where he will meet with representatives of the US Congress, Senate, and the US Department of State.

High-level meetings have been scheduled in the US with our colleagues in Congress and Senate, executive government and various American organisations supporting Georgia’s democratic development”, Kobakhidze said prior to his departure.

The Georgian Parliamentary Speaker will also meet with President of the National Democratic Institute (NDI) Kenneth Wollack, President of the International Republican Institute (IRI) Daniel Twining, President of the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES) William Sweeney, Executive Vice President of the Atlantic Council Damon Wilson and international think tanks.

Kobakhidze will further address students and other invited guests at Johns Hopkins University. He will end his working visit to the US on February 10.
