First time in Georgia – 3D video-installation of unique Georgian manuscripts

For the first time ever in Georgia, a unique collection of the National Centre of Manuscripts was presented via a 3D video-installation format on the 60th anniversary of the centre yesterday.
The assembly hosted a final gala night to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Korneli Kekelidze Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts on November 12.
The exhibition promoted Georgian culture, its position in Europe and the development of tourism potential.

The Georgian National Centre of Manuscripts is an extremely important intellectual and cultural heritage storage site”, stated Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sport Mikheil Batiashvili.
The event saw several book presentations, including a presentation of ‘The Knight in the Panther’s Skin’, the so-called Begtabegiseuli manuscript published by ‘Bakmi’ publishing-house.
Technology impacts our daily lives. And 3D installations play a major part too. Therefore its popularization is essential in Georgian society as well as in international communities”, added Batiashvili.
The centre’s collections preserve unique manuscripts and unique examples of medieval book art: richly decorated gospel books, manuscripts of ‘The Knight in the Panther’s Skin’, astrological collections, manuscripts of The Georgian Chronicles and maps compiled by Vakhushti Batonishvili.
