Former members of parliament and citizens of Batumi have founded a movement called Angry Batumelebi.

The members claim that they are angry at the government and ruling Georgian Dream party.

However, they say they are going to support the government anyways, because the country is in serious danger.

We are mad at the government but not because of the currency [devaluation]...but because we don’t want the candidate of the United National Movement to win the elections”, stated member of Angry Batumelebi Mamuka Zhgenti.

The movement is planning its next large meeting on November 18. Although currently they support the government, after the elections they say they will lodge a series of complaints with the government.

The runoff vote will be held no later than 2 December between the independent candidate Salome Zurabishvili (supported by the Georgian Dream) and Grigol Vashadze (the representative of National Movement party).
