A technical study inspecting the safety norms of mines in Georgia has been launched, the results of which will be announced in December 2018, says the Economy Minister Giorgi Kobulia.

Only after that it will be decided in which sections of mines work will be renewed. In the meantime, we will pay the miners, as we have already made an agreement with them. When the work is renewed the miners will receive their salaries as usual”, said Kobulia.

About 15 miners of the Mindeli mine shaft in the central Georgian town of Tkibuli began a protest action today, protesting the possible suspension of their salary.
