84 members and observer states of La Francophonie (Organisation de la Francophonie, OIF) have supported a resolution on crisis resolution and peace consolidation at the 17th summit held in Yerevan on October 11-12.

“The resolution mentions the conflicts in Georgia. In supporting it, the member states have once again reaffirmed their support to Georgia’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. They have emphasised the importance of the peaceful resolution of conflicts based on the principles of international law and of the complete and unconditional fulfillment of the 12 August 2008 Ceasefire Agreement,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today.

The OIF members have also expressed their support for the Geneva international discussions that are aimed at addressing the consequences of the 2008 conflict in Georgia.

The Georgian delegation was represented at the summit by the Minister of Justice Thea Tsulukiani.

Georgia has been an observer country in the OIF since 2004. The member states have agreed to hold the next summit in Tunisia in 2020.
