PostEurop’s 34th plenary meeting discusses postal reforms in Tbilisi

Top officials from European postal service have gathered in Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi to discuss postal reform, development plans and the possibility of strengthening cooperation between member states. 

The meeting was held within the 34th plenary meeting of PostEurop, the association of European public postal operators, one of the constituent unions of the Universal Postal Union.

In addition, the Business Innovation Forum, supported by the Georgian Post, was held on 2-4 October which brought together over 100 international organisations involved in the postal business who will be participating.

Companies presented innovative projects and visions related to the postal business and logistics. 

This year, the Business Innovation Forum has brought together a number of interesting postal start-ups, among them were successful companies who work in e-commerce, artificial intelligence, automation and digital marketing.

Georgian Economy Minister Giorgi Kobulia, who delivered his speech at the opening ceremony of the 34th plenary meeting yesterday, said that Georgia is interested in introducing innovations and new technologies in the country’s postal service.

He also highlighted the importance of the Business Innovation Forum and said that this forum is an opportunity for Georgian entrepreneurs and businessmen to establish new contacts, share experiences and expand their logistics plans.
