A category 5 storm has hit the Black Sea coast. A temporary ban on swimming in the sea has been put into effect.

“The height of the waves reaches four meters”, the Emergency Management Service said.

Red flags have been placed across the shore at all lifeguard stations.

The Emergency Management Service calls on everyone to pay attention to the red flags and to not enter the sea until white flags replace the red ones.

“Swimming in banned until 9 September, 10 am so far,” the service said.

Despite the ban, the Emergency Management Service workers have had to rescue 12 people today in between 12 and 14 pm.
