A car accident on Vaziani military base has claimed the life of one soldier and injured two others.

"The third Unit of the 12th Battalion of the first Infantry Brigade was on the shooting training at Vaziani. After the completion of the training the vehicle with which the servicemen were leaving the territory turned over on a soil road...all three military servicemen were transferred to Ingorokva Hospital where service personnel Vazha Shatirishvili died”, the Ministry of Defence said today.
The two other servicemen were later transferred to the military hospital in Gori. They received only minor injuries, the hospital administration said.
The Military Police have launched an investigation into misuse of a combat vehicle which leads to the loss of human life. The crime is punishable by three to seven years of imprisonment.
