Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze and the EU Commissioner for European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Johannes Hahn have discussed the new high-level bilateral cooperation format between the EU and Georgia, the first meeting of which will be held in Brussels in November.
The new format entails the development of even stronger sectoral cooperation between Georgia and the EU. The first meeting of this format will be held between PM Bakhtadze and the President of the European Commission.
Commissioner Hahn is visiting Georgia to participate in the launch ceremony of the European School for the Eastern Partnership.
The vision for the European School for the Eastern Partnership is to offer quality education to high-school students from partner countries, increasing opportunities, fostering cooperation and fundamental values and promoting a better understanding of the EU.
Johannes Hahn and Mamuka Bakhtadze have also discussed the importance of education which is one of the most significant priorities for the Georgian government.
“The parties have positively assessed the steps made by the Georgian government for economic development highlighting that the 45 million euros allocated to Georgia by the EU will be spent on economic reforms,” the PM’s office said today.
PM Bakhtadze and EU Commissioner Hahn have also discussed the implementation progress of the Association Agreement and DCFTA agenda.
