Georgian PM Bakhtadze starts visit to Azerbaijan today

Prime Minister of Georgia will leave for Azerbaijan today to meet with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev as well as the PM Novruz Mammadov and parliamentary speaker Ogtay Asadov.
“We will discuss important opportunities in terms of deepening regional cooperation as well as new initiatives that will help us to increase our trade. All these steps are going to positively reflect on our economic growth and achievement of our major goal - transforming Georgia into a regional hub,” PM Bakhtadze said.
The one day visit will also include a wide format meeting between official delegations of the two countries.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev says that the investment climate in Georgia is the best. Aliyev hosted Georgia's Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili in Baku today. At the meeting Aliyev highlighted some of the fields where Georgia and Azerbaijan have been cooperating successfully.
Georgia and Azerbaijan marked the 25th anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations with a special concert today. In his welcome speech Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze praised long friendship between the two countries.
The Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade has confirmed his country’s commitment to further deepening its strategic partnership with Georgia.
Georgia’s natural gas balance for 2018 is approved and it shows Georgia will not purchase natural gas from Russia this year.
Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze will leave for US on September 16 as he announced today.
