PM hopes new Finance Minister will contribute to digital economy development

Prime Minister of Georgia Mamuka Bakhtadze says the country’s new finance minister will be Ivane Macharishvili.
Macharashvili previously worked as the Finance and Commercial Director of mobile telecommunications operator, Geocell.
Bakhtadze said that Macharishvili has the proper experience to contribute to the development of Georgia's digital economy.
Most of our reforms are related to the digital economy and 50 percent of the reforms package presented by me requires modern technology. Vano Machavariani's experience in this regard is really visible. He is one of the most experienced persons in Georgia. Therefore, our expectation is that he will help us in the digital transformation of our economy”, Bakhtadze said.
Candidate for Economy Minister of Georgia Giorgi Kobulia says that his office will pay particular attention to the development of villages and regions of Georgia as the poverty level is much higher there.
There are three newcomers: Mikheil Batiashvili as the Minister of Education and Science, Ivane Machavariani as the Minister of Finance, and Giorgi Kobulia as the Minister of Economy.
