The US is going to support Georgia’s and Ukraine’s aspirations towards NATO membership at the upcoming summit in brussels planned for July 11-12.
"We will discuss the open door policy at the summit and start negotiations with Macedonia about membership. We will also support aspirations of Georgia and Ukraine towards NATO membership,” United States Permanent Representative to NATO Kay Bailey Hutchison said yesterday adding that the alliance is going to once again confirm its support to open door policy.
The Georgian government expects that the progress made by the country so far will be properly recognised at the summit in Brussels and further tools provided for advancement on the way towards membership.
