French writer Michel Houellebecq visits Tbilisi

French author Michel Houellebecq has started a three-day-visit to Georgia today.

The visit is being organised under the initiative of the Georgian National Book Center - Guests of Honour Get Together. 

As far as Georgia is the Guest of Honor of Frankfurt Book Fair this year, the project aims to host authors from the previous and upcoming Guest of Honor countries - France and Norway. Norwegian novelist Erlend Loe already visited Georgia in May.

Michel Houellebecq arrived in Tbilisi International Airport this morning, met by the organisers of his visit and Georgian media.

The renowned French writer Michel Houellebecq will be hosted by Georgian modern author Archil Kikodze during the three days of his visit. During his stay in Tbilisi Houellebecq will meet with Georgian readers at Rustaveli Theatre on June 25, at 8 pm. 

Houellebecq has written multiple novels. He is best-known for works of fiction including The Elementary Particles (1998),  Platform (2001), The Map and the Territory (2010),   and Submission (2015).
