The government of Georgia has once again raised the issue of handing over the murderer of Georgian citizen Giga Otkhozoria at the 52nd Incident Prevention and Response Mechanism (IPRM) meeting in Gali, in occupied Abkhazia.

At the meeting the representatives of the Georgian central government demanded the arrest of Rashid Kanji Oghli - the Russia-controlled border guard who brutally killed Otkhozoria in 2016 at the occupation line, on territory controlled by Georgia.

Kanji Ogli was sentenced to 14 years in prison in absentia by Kutaisi court in 2017, while the individual still walks free in Abkhazia.

Issues related to the release of illegally arrested Georgian citizen Paata Rogava, the process of the erecting of so-called border signs by occupants along the occupation line and the unlawful military drills conducted in occupied Abkhazia in 2017 were also discussed.

The next meeting will be held place on February 27, 2018.
