President of Georgia Giorgi Margvelashvili has received a letter from the President of China Xi Jinping sending warm wishes on the Independence Day of Georgia.
"In the name of the Chinese government, people and myself I would like to congratulate you on Georgia’s independence day and express our best wishes for you and the Georgian people,” reads the letter from Xi.
He called Georgia a "traditional partner and friend for China” characterizing the country as committed to social stability which continues to advance economic progress.
"The people of Georgia live and work in a peaceful environment while the country itself reaches a new development stage of national construction which makes me happy as a friend,” Xi said in his letter to the Georgian president.
