Beginning from today, infantry patrol police inspectors will be walking around the streets of Tbilisi where nightlife is active.

The areas of their operation include Shardeni, Bambis Rigi, Kote Apkhazi, Tabidze, and Vertskhli streets, also Avenue of David Agmashenebeli, as well as Europe, Vakhtang Gorgasali, Saarbrücken, and Abanotubani Squares.

Before their first day on duty the patrol police officers met with the Minister of Internal Affairs who wished them success.

The infantry patrol officers are new for Tbilisi and they were ordered to ensure the security of locals and city guests at places where there is active night-life activity.  The major obligation of the patrol is to reveal offences against the tourists.

The patrol officers are equipped with modern police equipment including shoulder cameras. 10 groups of infantry patrol will be operating around Tbilisi streets in the beginning.

The patrol police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to increase the number of infantry patrol inspectors as the summer touristic season becomes more active.
