Georgia hosts 1st cyber security festival for students

Graduates of Georgian schools and university students took part in the very first cyber security festival in Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi.
The event was organised by non-governmental organization Internet Development Initiative with the support of Georgian University and was aimed at introducing youth to a variety of issues related to cyber security.
In particular, participants were familiarised with:
- Strategy, policy and development of cyber security;
- New challenges of cyber security, hybrid wars;
- Cyber security and Georgia;
- Legal aspects of cyberspace, cyber crimes;
- Technical course of cyberspace;
- Elements of cyber security in business

Georgia has ranked 8th among 165 countries worldwide in the newest Global Cybersecurity Index.
About 30 per cent of Georgian computer users have faced various cyber threats in the first nine months of 2019, while 32 per cent of the users were attacked by dangerous programmes, Kaspersky Lab Georgia reports.
The Cyber Security Bureau of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia claimed third place in Locked Shields 2022, a cybersecurity training organised by the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence, on Tuesday.
