Zagros Airlines launches daily flights between Tbilisi and Tehran

Iranian airline Zagros Airlines is set to increase flights between the capitals of the two countries starting today.
The company will offer daily flights to passengers between Tbilisi and Tehran, following the approval it received from Georgia’s Civilian Aviation Agency earlier this week.
The new frequency marks an increase from the airline’s former twice-a-week schedule.
Flights will be held with the company’s Airbus A320 and McDonnell Douglas MD-80 jets.
Established in Iran in 2005, Zagros Airlines entered the Georgian market in 2016. The company offers flights to five international destinations from Iran.
The airline uses the Mehrabad International Airport in Tehran as one of its two operating bases.
Kazakh air company SCAT Airlines plans to expand its flight destinations to all of Georgia's three intentional airports in the capital of Tbilisi, seaside resort of Batumi and western city of Kutaisi, while the Iranian Taban Airlines will increase its flight frequency.
Georgian air traffic is increasing spurred on by the upgrading of the country's aviation infrastructure and growing tourism opportunities.
After three months of suspension in operations, DART Ukrainian Airlines brings back air service between Kiev and Tbilisi and will expand its flight frequencies on the route.
The Greek low-cost airline Ellinair is announcing new flights that will allow Georgian travellers to spend the summer in some of Greece’s most exotic resorts. This summer Ellinair will perform flights on the routes Heraklion-Tbilisi-Heraklion and Thessaloniki-Tbilisi-Thessaloniki.
Soon the summer aviation season will be in full swing and more flights from a wide variety of airlines will be flying in and out of Georgia.
Gulf Air, which is the principal flag carrier of Bahrain, announces the start of direct flights between Georgia and Bahrain from June 22.
