77 screens in France shows ‘My Happy Family’

My Happy Family, a German-Georgian-French co-production film was released in France on 77 screens on May 10.

The film tells the story of a 52-year-old Georgian woman caught up in a conflict between her family and her personal freedom, and who has to face the results of her decisions that cause divisions and confrontation between the people around her.

The filming of My Happy Family began last year, when award-winning filmmakers Nana Ekvtimishvili of Georgia and Simon Gross of Germany teamed up for a second time to co-direct a new film.

The film was supported by various European cinema funds and agencies.

My Happy Family was filmed at various locations in Georgia.

Georgian actors were cast in leading roles. The film will be screened in Georgian cinemas this autumn.
