Air Arabia Jordan, the Kingdom’s leading low-cost carrier (LCC), is launching its inaugural flight to Tbilisi from Amman today, becoming the first regular flight to directly link Georgia with Jordan.
The new service to and from Tbilisi aims to enhance tourism, and contribute to strengthening trade and bilateral relations between Jordan and Georgia.
The inaugural flight departed Amman International Airport yesterday at 13:00 hours local time, and the aircraft will receive a traditional water cannon salute upon arrival in Tbilisi at about 16:40 today.
Two weekly flights connect Amman and Tbilisi on Tuesdays and Fridays during only the summer season.
Negotiations on launching flights between the two countries started in 2016 and moved to the active phase after Georgia granted visa free travel to citizens of Jordan.
Air Arabia Jordan began operations in May 2015 and is Jordan’s leading and only low cost carrier (LCC).
