Georgian children living in Europe will now learn Georgian language away from their homeland on the internet.

The special distance learning project is intended for kids between 5-15 who have basic or average language competency or do not speak Georgian at all. 25-minute lessons are taught by professional teachers twice a week online.

The project is carried out by the National Center for Teacher Professional Development of the Georgian Ministry of Education and Science.

After the successful implementation of 15 pilot lessons in Great Britain last year the project elicited a high degree of interest among other countries. This is why the Education Ministry decided to apply the project to other countries as well.

It means that from now on children in different European countries will learn Georgian without being in Georgia.

Those who want to join the project can register and choose preferable timetables.
