Parliament Speaker praises civil sector for their role in Georgia’s EU integration

Parliament Speaker of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze has praised the civil sector at today’s conference in Tbilisi, and stated that Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) have contributed much to the country’s fast EU integration.

Your professional views and recommendations are of the highest importance for Georgia’s parliament and the government to elaborate relevant policy and the legal base for Georgia’s EU integration,” Kobakhidze stated at the conference named Georgia-EU Association Tasks in Tbilisi.

The parliament speaker underscored that NGOs involvement in the Georgia-EU association process boosted the legitimacy of the reforms and the activities carried out for the country’s European integration.

Kobakhidze stated that Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic integration was the wish of the Georgian people and the final goal of the government of Georgia was full-fledged membership in the EU.
