Georgia’s Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze has stated that Georgia has more significant goals with the EU than the association process.

We are ready to unilaterally do more to achieve the maximal level of integration with the EU,” Janelidze stated at today’s international parliamentary conference in Tbilisi.

The minister stated that Georgia has always had a "very clear vision” that the country’s future is Europe.

Janelidze underscored that over the past three years Georgia has used all opportunities provided through the EU’s Eastern Partnership initiative.

Today we are associated partner of the EU. Our citizens travel visa free in the EU’ Schengen Zone. Georgia has integrated in various energy unities and we are coming close to other European institutions,” Janelidze said.

The international parliamentary conference: EU and Partners – Embracing Diversity for Stronger Unity on 4 and 5 December aims to discuss integration with the EU as a framework for promoting internal reforms, indicating the benefits and challenges associated with the EU-inspired transformation.

The conference held at Tbilisi Palace of the Parliament of Georgia brought together representatives of the parliaments of the EU member states, candidate EaP countries, members of the European Parliament, Georgian government, civil society and international organizations
