Georgian wines win top prizes at EnoExpo fair in Poland

20 Georgian wine companies have participated in the international wine fair EnoExpo 2017 held in Krakow, Poland this month.

The EnoExpo is considered one of the most important and professional events in the wine industry in Poland.

The 15th international wine fair showcased nearly 200 exhibitors presenting wine from all over the world, including 20 wine companies from Georgia.

These wine companies were supported by the Georgian National Wine Agency as they participated in the fair to raise awareness of Georgian wine on the international market.

Within the fair a wine competition was also held where a Mtsvane Qvevri 2014 wine from Georgia’s Giuaani wine company won a gold medal top prize.

Two wines of the same company also received bronze medals at the competition.

The bronze medal was given to Satrapezo 10 Kvevri 2014 which was produced by Georgian wine company Telavi Wine Cellar.

Poland is an important export market for Georgian wine, said the National Wine Agency.

The latest figures show Georgia exported 2.15 million bottles of wine to Poland during the first 10 months of 2017. This was 18 percent increase from the same period of last year.
