Emerging film director Ana Urushadze has claimed another international prize for her first feature Scary Mother after she was named best new director at the Asian World Film Festival this week.
The Los Angeles-based awards was established to showcase best of filmmaking from countries ranging from Russia to Japan, with directors from over 50 countries highlighted.
Urushadze's work was picked for the honours from this year's roster of films as the annual event came to a close on November 2.

The young director's work follows a Georgian housewife who decides to read her first complete work of writing to her family, only to be confronted with controversial reception.
Played by Nata Murvanidze, the principal character is supported by a cast of Georgian actors in the Georgia-Estonia co-production.
The film debuted at the Locarno International Film Festival earlier this year and collected awards from the event as well as the Sarajevo Film Festival in August.
Produced by Lasha Khalvashi, Tinatin Kajrishvili, Ivo Felt, the work screened at the Asian World Film Festival on October 31 and November 1.
