Georgia hosts first trilateral meeting of heads of general staff of Georgia-Turkey-Azerbaijan

Georgia has hosted the first trilateral meeting of the Georgia-Turkey-Azerbaijan heads of the general staff of the ministries of defence of these countries. 

This is the second such meeting. The next one is scheduled to be held in Azerbaijan in 2018. 

Heads of the general staff of the three nations signed a document reiterating their support to regional and global peace.

The document also highlighted the three countries’ readiness for peaceful resolution of conflicts and supporting one another’s territorial integrity.

The heads of the general staff stressed the importance for closer ties and cooperation in military education.

Head of Georgia’s General Staff Major General Vladimer Chachibaia thanked his counterparts for supporting Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Chachibaia stated that Georgia is ready to strengthen its self–defence capabilities and be in full line with NATO standards.
