The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Mikheil Janelidze, has announced a three-day visit to France.
From February 6-8 Janelidze will meet with high-ranking French officials, including the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Development, Jean-Marc Ayrault, and Secretary of State for European Affairs Harlem Desir.
Janelidze is scheduled to hold meetings with high representatives of the French parliament as well.
While in Paris, Janelidze will travel to the historic Leuville Estate and will meet with members of the Georgian diaspora in France.
The estate in the town of Leuville is located just 37 kilometers south of Paris – Georgia’s government in exile settled there in 1921 after the Soviet Red Army invaded the country.
The estate was returned to Georgian ownership 89 years later in September of 2016.
In France, the Foreign Minister is expected to discuss Georgian-French relations in the fields of politics, economy, defence and culture.
