International Finance Corporation looks to expand activities in Georgia

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is interested in expanding its activities in Georgia.

This was announced today after a meeting was held between Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and IFC Director for Europe and Central Asia, Tomasz Telma.

The two officials highlighted the importance of IFC’s involvement in Georgia’s economy, energy, infrastructure and financial sectors.

Telma said Georgia had "big investment potential”, which was reflected in the World Bank’s ‘Doing Business’ report.

He also said the IFC was considering additional projects in Georgia.

PM Kvirikashvili talked about Georgia’s current and planned reforms, the ultimate goal of which is the country’s rapid development.
