International Finance Corporation looks to expand activities in Georgia

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) is interested in expanding its activities in Georgia.
This was announced today after a meeting was held between Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and IFC Director for Europe and Central Asia, Tomasz Telma.
The two officials highlighted the importance of IFC’s involvement in Georgia’s economy, energy, infrastructure and financial sectors.
Telma said Georgia had "big investment potential”, which was reflected in the World Bank’s ‘Doing Business’ report.
He also said the IFC was considering additional projects in Georgia.
PM Kvirikashvili talked about Georgia’s current and planned reforms, the ultimate goal of which is the country’s rapid development.
Georgia is making it easier for foreign investors to access the local financial market by becoming the 55th domestic market link for an important player in the securities services industry.
Business sector representatives and the vast majority of companies are satisfied with the business environment in Georgia and believe there is virtually no perception of corruption in the country they operate in.
