Interior Ministry promotes traffic safety in Batumi

Georgia’s Black Sea coastal resort of Batumi turned into a wonderland for kids and their families as the Interior Ministry hosted a number of events in the city last week.

Within the frames of the "For the Sake of You and Your Safety” campaign, the Interior Ministry set up a "Safe Town” in Batumi, a model city where kids could become police officers and take care of others’ safety for a day.

The Ministry presented some of its police cars and other equipment, which visitors could explore. Police dogs were also there, playing with children.

Below is what took place in Batumi last week.

A fun-corner was set-up where kids aged from 5 to 10 could go through a theoretical and practical exams to get a bicycle driving license.

Singing, dancing and playing piano was also part of the event.

The Interior Ministry said the aim of the event was to raise awareness about traffic safety across the country.
