The video for British-based Georgian artist Katie Melua's single Perfect World received its first international critical acclaim at this year's Berlin Music Video Awards (BMVA), with the awards ceremony held in the German capital.
Juries of the video awards festival selected the animation, by a directorial duo from award-winning boutique studio
Created by Sulkybunny's directorial duo Karni and Saul, the video was made for the single included in Melua's 2016 album In Winter.
On a journey through a snowy sugary wonderland, a boy and his mother wander through a wintery forest and experience moments of danger and wonder", said a description of the animation from France's Annecy International Animation Film Festival, which also featured the production in its competition.
Melua praised the directors of the animated work at its unveiling last year, noting Karni and Saul had "added such magic and wonder to this song". The Georgian singer recorded the single with the Gori Women's Choir from the central Georgian city.
The Best Animation is one of 14 nominations of the BMVA festival, which also awards works for Best Narrative, Best Art Director and Best Visual Effects.
The annual festival aims to support "both unknown and famous artists" and is promoted as "a primary networking event for the video and music industries in Europe".
Sulkybunny productions have earned their directors various awards at the Annecy festival and the British Animation Awards. The studio was also nominated for a British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) award for their short film Flytopia.
