Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili and President of the Venice Commission Gianni Buquicchio have held a telephone conversation that discussed the ongoing process of amending the constitution in Georgia.
The Government Administration said in a press release that Buquicchio thanked Kvirikashvili for his involvement in the process and for the government’s attempts to continue a dialogue to reach a consensus.
The press release also said that Buquicchio praised the government’s action, which allowed political parties to name their Mayor candidates in the list of Sakrebulo (city council) too.
"This change was of great importance for parties competing in the elections”, said the press release.
It added that Buquicchio told Kvirikashvili that today he is "even more optimistic” and hopes that the next parliament of Georgia will be more pluralistic.
