Georgia’s first ever olive processing plant is about to process the first harvest this year for sales locally and abroad.
The olive plantation and olive processing plant was established last year in Georgia’s Kakheti region.
This year the company is already planning to export Georgian olives to the Transcaucasian countries, Europe and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries, announced Georgia's Ministry of Agriculture.
The company representatives plan to conquer export markets in cooperation with Carrefour and other international trading networks.
The plant was created with the help of state programs and Dutch-Turkish joint investment.
The total investment in the project was 5 million GEL (about $2.08m/€1.83m *).
