Georgia’s Ministry of Defence has opened a US-analog courses for drill instructors in order to produce sergeants who will train recruits in the future.
They [drill instructors] will be tasked to train recruits of Georgia’s Armed Forces and make them professionals,” Georgia’s Defence Ministry stated.
The five-month course is now underway at Giorgi Antsukhelidze Sergeant Training Centre in Tbilisi.
The nine best sergeants have been selected for the course which is conducted by Georgian instructors who are graduates of the US Fort Jackson Academy: an academy specialized for drill sergeants.
The candidates for the course had to pass physical and mental tests and those with the highest rating were enrolled.
