Prime Minister: “Agricultural lands mustn’t be sold to foreign citizens”

Georgia’s Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili announced today that the Georgian Dream ruling team stands against of selling  of the country’s agricultural lands to the foreign nationals. 

Kvirikashvili stated the Georgian Dream Government and the parliamentary majority made a joint decision to appeal to the State Constitutional Commission to make a relevant  note in the draft of the constitutional amendments.

The note should contain the following: agricultural land, as a resource of particular importance, must be owned by a citizen of Georgia, a unity of Georgian citizens, the state or a self-governing unit,” Kvirikahsvili stated.

The Prime Minister said the decision reflected the demand of the biggest part of Georgians and he believed the solution "must be made.”
