Georgia’s business environment has an excellent reputation worldwide and Japanese companies are attracted to the country, says Japanese State Minister for Foreign Affairs Nobuo Kishi.

Georgian Foreign Minister Mikheil Janelidze is paying a visit to Japan, where he met with Kishi and discussed bilateral relations and deepening trade and economic ties.

Kishi said that Janelidze’s visit to Japan will open new dynamics in Georgia-Japan economic cooperation.

Janelidze is expected to meet with top managers of Japanese companies to explore investment opportunities. He already met with Toshiba management in Tokyo and discussed the business environment of Georgia and opportunities in robotics, energy and logistics.

"Georgia is not only a recipient of Japanese assistance but also, with its liberal economic environment, investment and business opportunities and democratic development, can become an interesting location for Japanese business projects in the region”, Janelidze said as he met with local journalists at the National Press Club of Japan.

Within the visit Janelidze is scheduled to meet more Japanese high officials and visit more Japanese companies including Hitachi.

While in Tokyo, he will also participate in an event celebrating the 25th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Georgia and Japan.
